Secure TCP/IP Connections with SSH Tunnels It is possible to use SSH to encrypt the network connection between clients and a PostgreSQL server. TCP is a synchronous communication scheme that requires handshaking from both sides of the connection as packets are exchanged (SYN and ACK packets).
